SOLAR DCDB (DC DISTRIBUTION BOARD)
At Mine Power, A Solar DCDB is an assembly of IP65 enclosure, surge protection device, MCB or fuse, DC isolator, and terminal or MC4 connectors. DCDB stands for DC Distribution Board or Array Junction Box. A solar DCDB is typically installed between the solar panel and the inverter, and is used to combine multiple solar panel strings into a single DC output and provide protection.

SOLAR DCDB is a critical part of a solar power plant. When sunlight falls on the solar panel, DC voltage and current are generated. A grid-connected solar PV system consists of the following components: Solar PV Array, Array Junction Box, DC Cabling, DCDB, Inverter, AC Cabling, and ACDB.
In other words, Solar DCDB is a DC Distribution Board or DC Combiner Box that manages power flow from the solar panels to the inverter. It also ensures the safety and protection of the solar inverter from surges and faults.
- All outdoor DCDBs are protected with IP65 or better.
- Enclosures are made from laser-cut CRCA sheet and powder-coated using the 7-Tank process.
- MINE POWER provides IP65 certificates for solar DCDBs.
Interconnection from DCDB to the input of the inverter in a solar PV system.
All switches, circuit breakers, and connectors used in the DCDB conform to:
- IEC 60947 Part I, II, and III
- IS 60947 Part I, II, and III
Other electrical standards followed include IS 8623 and IEC 60529.
Enclosures provide a degree of protection with rated voltage up to 1000V DC.
Our standard enclosures are equipped with general test requirements that meet the selected degree of protection and are suitable for the type of equipment to be protected. Measures are taken to guard both the enclosure and the internal components against external influences like:
- Mechanical impacts
- Corrosion
- Corrosive solvents (e.g., cutting liquids)
- Fungus
- Vermin
- Solar radiation
- Icing
- Moisture (e.g., condensation)
- Explosive atmospheres
